Board games with voice chat, online with friends
Micup (micup.gg) is a voice chat app whose 3D rooms have playable tables for okey, 101 Okey, backgammon (tavla), chess, Turkish draughts and draughts; your avatar sits at the table and you talk while you play. Games run inside a voice channel, so anyone in that channel can take a free seat or watch from beside the table.

Which board games can you play on Micup?
There are six. Okey and 101 Okey take four players; chess, backgammon and both draughts games take two. The rules run on the server, so the app refuses an illegal move and tells you why.

How do you start a game?
You have to be in that voice channel to play or watch. Leaving the table before the end loses the game. If your connection drops, you have 30 seconds to come back. A player who runs out of time twice in a row loses.
- Join a server voice channel that has a 3D room.
- Click a free seat at a table, or open the "Table games" button at the top of the voice view.
- If the table is free, pick the game and the move time, then press "Set up table".
- Friends press "Take seat" on the free places. The game starts once every seat is taken.
- Drag pieces on the 3D table, or click a piece and then the square it should go to.
How many tables does each 3D room have?
Every table has four places; two-player games use the two facing each other. Spectator seats stand beside the tables.

Can you watch other people's games?
Yes. Press "Watch" on the table panel, or sit in a spectator seat next to the table. Spectators see only what every player can see; in okey the racks stay hidden. Up to 50 people watch a table live; past that, the table refreshes every few seconds.
Which devices can you play on?
The tables are in 3D rooms, and 3D rooms open on computers: in the browser or in the desktop app. The window has to be wider than 640 pixels and the browser needs WebGL2. The Android app and phone browsers show the regular voice view without the 3D room. You do not need a VR headset.

Do I have to pay to play?
No. A Micup account is free, and sitting down at a table to play costs nothing.

Micup's 3D rooms have built-in chess, backgammon, draughts and Okey tables, and your voice chat keeps running while you play.
How many players does okey need?
Okey and 101 Okey take four players. The game does not start until all four seats are filled.
Can I play on my phone?
No. The tables are in 3D rooms, which open only on computers, in the browser or the desktop app.
