Checkers and Turkish draughts online with friends
Micup (micup.gg) has two draughts games at the tables in its 3D rooms: Turkish draughts, where men move straight, and draughts (checkers), played on the diagonals. Whoever sets up the table picks the game and the clock; two players sit across from each other and keep talking in the voice channel while they play.

How do you play checkers on Micup?
- Join a voice channel that has a 3D room and click a free seat at a table.
- If the table is free, choose Turkish Draughts or Draughts, pick the time and press "Set up table".
- The game starts when your friend takes the seat opposite. Colours are assigned at random and White moves first.
- Drag a piece on the 3D board, or click it and then its target square. When a capture is required, the app accepts only legal captures.
How is Turkish draughts different from checkers?
Micup's draughts follows the Brazilian rules, which are the international draughts rules played on an 8x8 board.

| Kings | Move any distance along ranks and files | Move any distance along diagonals |
| Capturing | Compulsory; you must take the most pieces possible | Compulsory; you must take the most pieces possible |
| Captured pieces | Removed at once | Removed when the move ends |
| Extra draw rule | One king each | None |
How does a game end?
- You win by taking all your opponent's pieces or leaving them with no legal move.
- A player whose clock runs out loses, whatever is left on the board.
- If the same position occurs three times, the game is a draw.
- If 25 moves pass for each side without a capture or a man moving forward, the game is a draw.
- A player who leaves the table before the end loses. If your connection drops, you have 30 seconds to come back.
How long is the clock?
The clock is each player's total time for the whole game, with no time added per move.
| Speed | Total time per player |
|---|---|
| Fast | 3 minutes |
| Normal | 10 minutes |
| Slow | 30 minutes |
